God loves you. He desires to give you both life abundant and eternal. This is good news! But how does one come to receive these gifts, beginning a new life in Jesus Christ? Great question! Please consider the following:
1) We must realize that we are sinners in need of forgiveness.
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
2) We must realize that there is a penalty for sin.
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death”
3) We must realize that Jesus gave His life for us, bearing the penalty of our sin.
Romans 5:8 – “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
4) Through faith in and surrender to Christ, we find forgiveness and receive eternal life.
Romans 10:9–10 – “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Do you want to be pardoned for your sin?
Do you want to receive God’s gift of eternal life?
Do you want to begin a whole new life in Jesus Christ?
It begins with just a simple prayer…
“God, I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
